I found myself impatient, but then the end, or rather, the part almost at the end that&#8217;s a return to the beginning, redeemed it. The narrator asks, &#8220;Was&#8217;t well done?&#8221; and there&#8217;s just one proper Shakespearian answer: &#8220;Bravely, my diligence.
