I went today to return a book\/pick up a hold, but ended up browsing the new books section too, and this is the result. And this is with me showing restraint\/not checking out a few of the books I was pondering.<\/p>\n<p>From top to bottom:<br \/>\n<i>Hildafolk<\/i> by Luke Pearson: I read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/books\/page-turner\/here-comes-hilda\">this post<\/a> on the New Yorker&#8217;s website about this series of graphic novels for kids and was intrigued.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Odd Woman and the City<\/i> by Vivian Gornick: I heard about this book from a few people on Goodreads, and saw the author speak at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcnallyjackson.com\/\">McNally Jackson Books<\/a> (which is very worth a visit if you are ever in NYC) back in October. This is a memoir that involves walking in NYC so clearly I am interested in it. <\/p>\n<p><i>The Uncommercial Traveller<\/i> by Charles Dickens: Rebecca Solnit mentioned this in <i>Wanderlust<\/i>, and the title stuck in my mind. Like the above, it&#8217;s at least partly about city-walking, so yeah.<\/p>\n<p><i>We Love You, Charlie Freeman<\/i> by Kaitlyn Greenidge: There was a free copy of this in the kitchen at work earlier this year, and I almost grabbed it but didn&#8217;t, and then regretted not having grabbed it after reading about it at <A href=\"http:\/\/readingtheend.com\/2016\/03\/16\/we-love-you-charlie-freeman-kaitlyn-greenidge\/\">Reading the End<\/a> and elsewhere. <\/p>\n<p><i>Wonderstruck<\/i> by Brian Selznick: I first heard about this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/magazine\/2011\/12\/05\/wonderstruck\">via the New Yorker<\/a> ages ago, but was reminded of it when a dear friend recently read it\/recommended it to me via Goodreads.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have anything good checked out from the library right now?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I had a proper stack of library books checked out.
