Rainbow Boys is about being young and queer and confused: it’s the story of three high school guys in various stages of the process of coming out. Jason is the popular jock with a girlfriend, Kyle’s the quiet swimmer with a crush on Jason, and Nelson’s the flamboyant school fag who’s Kyle’s best friend, but who also has a crush on him. In addition to negotiating sex and love, these guys have to deal with homophobia and violence at school, and with family issues in abundance… but this is a story about figuring things out and triumphing in small ways, so things aren’t all bad. Well-written, though sometimes the dialogue annoyed me (“Wha’s up?” “Laters” and so on), and maybe a little bit too problem-filled or less charming than I like YA books to be.

so far i think this book is really intrusting its a little weird becuase what they say and what they do
but overall its a great book to read. i have family who are gay or bi and i have no problem with that
i love them no mater what. i think this book is giving the kids a peace of mind of what geys,Bi
go threw when they come out of the closet. they shouldnt have to be scared to come out of the
closet everyone shoeld except who they are.you would think teenagers would act older then what
there shoe size is. this book was a great book and i think all students or teens should read this
and see what they have to say after they read the book.
great job on the book loved it
